Plasticum’s spray actuator Cooper commercially available

back to news

Last year Plasticum showed the first prototypes of Cooper: a new insertless horizontal spray actuator for several aerosol applications. The market response was excellent and Plasticum further optimised the design and spray performance according to the latest customer requirements. A new tool, equipment and assembly machine have now been installed and Plasticum is ready to cope with Cooper’s mass production.

Cooper ( 35 mm) has been designed and patented by Plasticum Group. The product integrates both the actuator button and the insert, manufactured in a single shot moulding. A special chamber and channel design stimulate the acceleration of particles into a swirling pattern. The exit opening of the button is positioned almost right above the dip tube to gain an optimised control and performance when activating the aerosol.

Cooper has been tested extensively in Plasticum’s spray lab. Compared to the existing one-piece actuators and many two-piece spraycaps, the spray performance of Cooper shows significant improvements. The favourable cost : quality ratio guarantees a very economical choice. Following the customers’ demand, Plasticum will also market this Cooper concept with different diameters.

The actuator is made out of polypropylene and can be supplied with an overcap of Plasticum’s IRIS range. Cooper fits on the valve cup and is applicable to tin plate and aluminium cans.
