Every year Dutch companies can apply for the Good Industrial Design Award by sending their products to initiator Designlink. The products have to pass specific standards and are judged on several criteria like functionality, ergonomics, environment and safety, design and originality.
In July and independent jury judged approximately 90 entries. Plasticum’s contribution Cooper, an insertless spray actuator, has been accredited in the category Consumer Products. This allows Plasticum to use the Good Industrial Design logo together with the Cooper actuator for all kinds of purposes.
The Cooper technology has been developed and patented by Plasticum Group. The one-piece Cooper (35 mm) has a special chamber and channel design that stimulate the acceleration of particles into a swirling pattern. The orifice is positioned almost straight above the stem to gain an optimised control and performance when activating the aerosol.
As Cooper has an in-moulded spray nozzle and break-up unit, there is no need for a costly assembly line, making the Cooper not only economical, but also suitable for customised spray cap designs at low investments. Several customers already adopted this product.
The award-giving ceremony will take place at the ING House in Amsterdam on Wednesday October 1st 2008.
